2026-2027 Draft Registration

The Over-30 League is proactively  signing up players for the 2026-2027 seasons beginning in September.  Since the league has run into so many issues regarding online registrations, we are kicking it old school and returning it to a paper form.

Please take 2-minutes…  Visit the registration table to sign up for the league’s 35^th Anniversary Season.  If it’s going to be anything like the 30^th Anniversary, you can expect lots of surprises, as once again we look to return the “Wow Factor” from the 30^th Anniversary celebration.

Smoke ‘em

Next week the leagues front office staff, in conjunction with a couple of generous players, team up for our annual “Foodie Event”.

Next week Dave Giusti fires up his smoker and once again smokes Donny Maccini’s 15lb Prime Rib that he graciously donated, along with Dave donating Pork Ribs (and his time) as the “Over-30 Pitmaster.”

All the side dishes are prepared and compliments of the league’s Board of Directors.

Waiver Wire

Just under the wire… The were three roster moves over the last two weekends which included (2) players formally on long-term IR that are returning to competition and one of those players was (for one game only).

The biggest headline is the return of Cam Long for Cam-A-Lot.  After having a team named after him, Cam only played (3) games in the 2025 Winter Season before having to shut it down due to a nagging injury.  During his unexpected one-game return, he had 3-goals and looked to be back… but disappointingly had to shut it down (again – and for good?).

Another big name returning is former Cam-A-Lot defenseman Derek Donnegan.  With “No Vacancy” at his former castle… Derek was catapulted over to wall to join The Revolution and their fight to get out of the basement before the season ends.  Derek was a key factor in their doubleheader weekend split.

Steve Iacoviello got off his couch just in time to step in for the Poo Bears.  “Ike” who was battling a long-term stint on IR (unrelated to being a new parent) that was preventing him from playing for the last two seasons, healed up just in time to be added to the Poo Bears defense for the season disappointment of their “shelved” captain Dave Costa. 

Weekend Highlights

With the last doubleheader weekend in the books… and a missed edition of the forum.  We are using this forum to spotlight the previous couple of weekends of play.  The good news and bad news are that this is the next to the last edition of the forum as we shut down the banter before the playoffs.

You have one last week to impress the writers and make a storyline or become a cartoon.

Gun Powder

Tommy Guns were the only team to win both games on the final doubleheader weekend of the season.  Mike Duggan and company loaded up the “Gun Powder” by scoring 13-goals, while their goalie AJ Larabee only let up 5-goals for their doubleheader wins.

With the Oscars out in Hollywood last week… Patrick Spencer won “Best Supporting Linemate” in a Sporting Event with his 8-assists performance last week.

“Poopsie” Push

The biggest star of the weekend was Mike “Poopsie” Duggan and his push towards 18-goals… and thanks to a pair of hat tricks over the weekend, he now sits on 17-goals with 2-games to go (maybe).  Rumor has it “Poopsie” might miss a game for a family event.

Also, a field reporter dropped a dime to the league’s front office that Mike is also hinting and showing interest in joining the 20/20 Club… as the last person to join was Matty “The Great One” Iannello.

Let’s see what the young “Doo-gan” has instore for his last two games against First Responders and goaltender Dave Guisti… along with The Revolution and goaltender Scotty Rosato.  They can either prevent history (or become an Over-30 trivia question).

Four Goals

Pedro Fontes is still doing it without his two stars Dave Costa and Rob Sheridan.  Pedro had himself a “Chuck Woolery” weekend with a “2 & 2” performance (IYKYK).

We didn’t get to watch much of his games with the draft confirmation projects going on, but we suspect he would have had a hat trick on one of those two days if Leo Trombley helped more… as we all know Leo is the fall guy on that team.

Revolution Coming

With Dan Poirier Sr, Scott Daniliuk, Manny Nunes and JR Liwanag all out of the line up… it was up to Rich Pelletier to move from defense back to offense and help Jim Barber score goals for The Revolution.

Rich is becoming one of the leagues draft MVP’s as he can play both defense and offense while being effective and productive in both roles.  With the addition of Derek Donegan and the versatility of Rich, there could be a “Revolution coming” for the playoffs.

Scotty Rosato was the only goalie to post a shutout last weekend with an outstanding game on Sunday keeping Jon Brown, Angelo De Luca and that pesky George Medeiros off the scoring sheet.  As you recall, George had a hat trick on Scotty the last time they faced off in a 6-3 loss… so it was Scotty’s turn to return the favor with some “Donuts and Bagels” for Capo-Zero to munch on.

3-Point Lead

“The Streak” is over but Jim Barber is continuing to chase his personal best 13-goals and just hit his milestone of 300-assists.  With two games left and a 3-point lead on the ALD Mike Naczas can the webmaster bury 3-goals for a new personal best of 14-goals?

Weekend Lowlights

Capo-Winless

Capo-Zero was “Capo-Winless” last weekend as the only team to go 0-2.  They were flying high and flirting with the top seed thanks to the energetic play and scoring touch of John Brown.  But they are noticeably missing a key player as Gino “Offsides” Tammaro has been on the PUP-List for weeks now with a lower body injury.

They also got a dose with reality with an 8-goal collapse against Tommy Guns, as Mike Duggan and Patrick Spencer had a free-for-all for points on Saturday.

Burned

Cam-A-Lot goaltender Anthony Petrillo who’s been playing great in his sophomore season was torched and burned on Sunday giving up 9-goals to clobber his GAA.  “Ant” 1-upped Dale McIssac for the “Goalie bad beat” of the weekend, as Dale had it locked in with 8-goals against Tommy Guns… that was until Anthony said, “Hold my beer”.

Previous Week 11 Notables

Naz Trick

Uh-Oh Jim Barber you picked the wrong time to end your 8-game scoring streak… don’t look now but the Poo Bers ALD Mike Naczas had a career game with his “Naz Trick” of 3-assists (Week #11) in their 3-3 tie vs Capo-Zero… and without the coattails of Rob Sheridan or Dave Costa to ride on.

Cam-A-Lee

Two weeks ago, Lee Nogler had a season game when he scored a natural hat trick in the first period that all started with a shorthanded breakaway goal.

This reporter had Cam-A-Lot to win it all with Cam Long back in the line-up… but now that’s he’s back on indefinite IR, they are going to rely heavily on their replacement players Kevin Johnson and Brian Pollinger.

Brownie Points

Jon Brown had a hat trick vs Poo Bears as he stole Sean Roach’s win with just 6-seconds to play.  John’s return has been instrumental in Capo-Zero’s success, but the real test is not measured in goals… but championships, and no one in the league wants a championship jacket with the word “Captain” above his name more than Angelo “Kato” De Luca.

If “Don” Angelo gets a semi-healthy Gino Tammaro back for the playoffs and John stays hot… and everyone knows Dale McIssac is very capable of standing on his head in the playoffs… this could be the year.

Matchups

This is the last two weeks of the season where anything can happen, and matchups are key as the top 3-seeds are up for grabs.

The only “semi-locked” seed is the #6 spot with The Revolution.  The only way they can move up out of the basement is if they win their last two games and Tommy Guns loses their last two… and with Mike Duggan gunning for 20/20 its going to be an almost impossible task.

Written “Unwritten” Rule

In a league when players like to quote or make-up rules… we want players to know that there is “no rule” for using “fill-in” players during overtime. 

Call it the “De Luca” clause, whereas Angelo wants an “un-written” rule about restricting the use of “fill-in” players during overtime, especially when said players are marquee players.

So, this “written” update, nullifies the “unwritten” rule… so if you don’t want to lose to a “fill-in” player in overtime… beat them in the first 30-minutes of regulation.
