Parking
Hockeytown Parking Sucks as it is… when you add in snow it sucks even more.
Please allow yourself plenty of time to find a parking space (or park at Hooters) with Gary Goodwin and walk back.
Penalty Rule (Extending Penalties)
Effective immediately, players who receive ANY penalty during a game can be subject to an additional penalty of (1-1/2 minutes minor for “unsportsmanlike conduct” or a 5-minute misconduct) if the offending player’s actions thereafter warrant an additional penalty extension (see examples below) that takes place AFTER the initial call has been made:
5-Minute Misconduct Penalty can be given for the following player actions:
- Players hitting the boards with their stick in frustration
- Throwing the stick into the penalty box, bench area, or anywhere on the rink
- Deliberately slamming the bench door
- Slamming their stick against the goalie nets or plexiglass
- Berating the officials
- See the leagues “Zero Tolerance Policy”
- A 5-Minute Misconduct Penalty are not Powerplay opportunities
In certain situations, players can be given a supplemental penalty and/or an additional game misconduct penalty by the officials (if their actions warrant it), up to and including the offending player being removed from the game (Based on the Referee’s discretion).
Example 1: If a player breaks his stick over the goal posts and then tosses it into the netting, that player receives a “Misconduct” penalty, along with a “Game Misconduct” penalty and they are ejected from the game.
Example 2: If a player hits the boards with his stick and receives a “5-minute Misconduct” penalty then proceeds to verbally berate the officials over the call, said player will also
receive an automatic “Game Misconduct” penalty and they are ejected from the game.
Extending the Penalty
