The Over-30 League would like to thank all the moving pieces that continuously make this league fun and enjoyable to be a part of.
Roughly 34-Seasons and 68-Thanksgivings later we are still going stronger than ever thanks to the dedication of the Over-30 Board of Directors, the front office staff, the referees, the various timekeepers, the volunteers who generously donate their time and gifts to the league… and to you (the players) whose continuous dedication is the foundation of the Over-30 Hockey League.
As we wind down the 2025 Winter Season and head towards the playoffs… we hope you all understand (as the captains do) that this has been one of the most challenging seasons (ever) running the league.
From Week #1 we have faced numerous challenges with key players on long-term IR, a rare trade, and more IR stints throughout the season for numerous players. Through it all we continue to make every effort to keep the competition balanced and address a team’s needs, and the league standings show that the parody throughout the league is working.
The veteran players have witnessed continuous league growth over the decades. From the days of paper stats and the PUTA Forum on a weekly corkboard… to an official website… and now the use of Artificial Intelligence to generate those weekly cartoons, the league continues to evolve and strives to be one of the best run hockey leagues in existence.
To give our reporters and writers a break to spend time with their families, this Thanksgiving we decided to try something different for the weekly forum and wanted to produce a short forum “Thanksgiving Edition” using AI and those weekly cartoons only. Just remember that AI is not perfect (not even close) and the mistakes that those servers make are endless and cumbersome… but the intent and jokes are there for your enjoyment.
