Official Newsletter of the Old-Time Hockey Over-30 League
34-Seasons and counting...
Article 570 - March 7, 2026
Special "Cut & Paste" Edition
|
Attention to all players to the below list of multiple events taking place during the month of March:
- Saturday, March 7 prior to the 5:30 game, please join us as the Over-30 league welcomes the newest Hall of Fame inductee Steve Manzi, the original shutdown defenseman and shot blocker extraordinaire, along with his long-time friend and bodyguard Al Sumner.
- Starting on March 7 and running for the entire month, the league will be actively recruiting players to sign up for the annual end of season Players Jamboree for the weekend of April 25-26. Registration cost to sign up for the draft is $80. All league goalies get first preference to be drafted over any guest goalies. The league is trying to draft 6 teams of 8 players. To do this in time (early April), we will need a list of commited draft players, be able to hold the Jamboree captains meeting as well as order all the supplies to hold this event.
- Throughout the month of March, league representatives will be going around to all players on every team to hand out and collect 2026-27 draft player sign up forms so that we can collect player information and include players into the draft. Every player will be asked to confirm the requested information and return the form. This will only take a couple of minutes of everyone's time.
- The weekend of March 14 and 15 will be the last of the doubleheader weekends of league games taking place. We appreciate all the players' patience in having so many doubleheader weekends of games this season scheduled so that we could offer 15 games in the regular season.
- Mid-to-late March, the league will raffle off two Giveback to the Players awards (our last of these awards this year).
- Saturday, March 28, another foodie pop-up event will take place after the 4:30 game as legendary pitmaster Dave Giusti will make an appearance and be serving up another surprise menu of barbeque entrees, along with side dishes provided by the league's Board of Directors. All are welcome to attend and please enjoy as the league offers another thank you event to all its players and fans!

In a wild shootout game, with the outcome determined by the play of special teams, Tommy Guns overcomes and early two goal deficit, storming back with four unanswered goals )3 on the power play), surviving a furious comeback and holding on for a much needed win, to end a three game losing streak.
Cam-A-Lot finally plays with a full roster, but get sidetracked trying to kill off too many penalties and give up three power play goals, to lose their second straight game.
Mike Duggan follows up his previous game's hat trick and scores another 2-goals, and adds an assist, to increase his lead in the scorers race. Don't look now, but with 9-goals scored with five games to play he just may have a chance to beat his pink scoring challenge.

Eddie Chin goes right to the blue paint to quickly put back a rebound in the third period for his first goal of the season, that turns out to be the game winner, to go along with his two assists. Eddie picked the right time to have a breakout game on offense.
Mike O'Neill is starting to break out as his team's scoring leader and impact player, leading his team with 8-goals, as he scores 2-goals while adding an assist.
