Opening Notes
Happy New Year!!…. and welcome back to another Over-30 Hockey League (Spring Season) as we once again race through 15-weeks of winter to get to the 2026 Spring Season Playoffs (and more importantly) the real prize, spring and warmer weather.
Week #1 Reminders… bring your $180 registration deposit (balance of $170) due later in the season… or pay the $350 in full and have no balance due for the rest of the season.
Double Header Weekends: February 14th & 15th (Weeks #7 & #8)…. Along with March 14th & 15th (Weeks #12 & #13) are both slated as double header weekends so we can compress the season, and end in time for the year end Players Jamboree and the Over-30 Golf Event to benefit the Paul Correia Fund. Please plan accordingly as your team needs you.
Tony Medeiros: is continuing his fundraising efforts by selling Superbowl Squares with the hopes of the Patriots being the representative for the AFC. $20 per square, please see Tony as he’s starting to fill them this Saturday, and like the golf event it will sell out quickly.
Pop Up Food: We’ve done this a couple of times, and the players seem to enjoy the “Players Giving Back to the Players” pop up food event, when Scoreboards Pub & Grill actually serves up food. This is all courtesy of Dave Giusti when he smokes whatever meat Donny Maccini donates, and the (active) Board of Directors cook up some complimentary side dishes. More details to follow later in the season.
Over-30 Hall of Fame: One more former player will be inducted later in the season.
Welcome Back
They were supposed to play in the 2025 Winter Season, but prolonged stints on the indefinite IR had them sitting out for the entire season.
Welcome back to Hockeytown’s “Living Legend” Dan Broderick… Dan will be reclaiming his spot on defense for Poo Bears, and his fill-in Seth Ford is designated for reassignment.
Mark Stickney is also cleared to return to the First Responders as the 3rd #8 on that team… which means Nick Doherty is back to the “fill-in list” where he likes to be.
Jon Brown is back with his original team Capo-Zero… which means Kevin Wilson is designated for reassignment.
Reassignments
After winning a championship jacket with the Poo Bears as a first time “fill-in”… Seth Ford is moving across the street to that crumbling castle called Cam-A-Lot. Seth will be added to help their defense with the mid-season dropout as Derek Donegan (and his knees) are taking the spring off with a season ending IR stint.
Kevin Wilson got “whacked” from (Don Angelo) and Capo-Zero. Kevin packed his bag and went across the hallway to the visitors’ locker room and will be joining Tommy Guns as the replacement for Johnny Mastrocola and his season ending IR stint as well.
Chris Ducharme answered the leagues cry for help last season and he is returning (full-time) to the Over-30 League and staying with Cam-A-Lot.
Welcome Rookies
Welcome to the league Kevin Johnson and Brian Pollinger… who were both hand-selected by Tony Medeiros and Lee Nogler to help rebuild the crumbling Cam-A-Lot castle, that also includes Timmy “Tito” Burke still on the PUP List.
Scott Daniliuk was recruited from within to fight the revolution, for The Revolution. Scott is Dan Poirier Sr stepson and if he’s anything like his brother Dan Poirier Jr they found themselves another legitimate goal scorer and/or another solid defenseman.
Kevin, Brian & Scott… this is the part of the website we call “The Forum” as its lovingly referred to. This is our weekly newsletter highlighting the previous week’s action. We have weekly stars and storylines, motivational and ball busting commentary… and our new “Saturday Morning Cartoons” with AI generated Over-30 comics.
The cost is $350 (per season – paid in two installments) and with that you get; 15-regular season games (and one playoff game guaranteed), any playoff games (after the first one) are free, but it’s up to you and your teammates to earn them.
We give out weekly stars, weekly awards, and monthly giveaways or as we like to call them in The Forum, “Tax Rebates” from the league.
The Over-30 Hockey League has always been an “Invitational Only” league, not solely based on skills, but more on character and reputation with a current league player vouching for your character and skillset. With that said… Welcome to the Over-30 League.
