2024 Spring Weekly Award Winners
Week #14
Michael Duggan

The Dunkin Donuts Player of the Week award winner is Mike Duggan of Marooned.

Once again showing why he deserved both the leading scorer title as well as the Season MVP this season, Mike proved the analysts wrong saying he wouldn’t score 30-goals this season, as he did them one better and scored 31-goals, scoring 6-goals in his game.

We believe that Mike set an Over-30 league record of most goals scored in a game with 6, while finally joining that exclusive 30-goals club with Joe Shannon (twice), Doug Sedille and Mike Luise.  Well done Mike.

Week #14
Derrick Power

The winner of the Five Guys weekly award is Derrick Power of Black Magic.

He may not have been noticed by spectators watching the game, but Derrick was definitely noticed by his team mates, as he hustled all game, was strong on the forecheck and assisted on a goal.

His efforts during the game helped swing the momentum over to his team that resulted in some timely goals, enabling them to close out the game.

Week #14
Derek Donegan

The winner of the weekly AARP award is Derek Donegan of the Sandbaggers.

Shifting up front to play forward, Derek had an impact game, factoring in on every goal his team scored, scoring 2-goals while adding 2-asists.

Derek took the pressure of team mate Paul Sequeira for one game as he led his team to victory extending their winning streak to three games.

Week #14
Dave Giusti

The winner of the Nelson Sousa Lucky Goalie of the Week award is Dave Giusti of the Sandbaggers.

Dave made his team’s defensive effort pay off, as he stopped 27 out of 28 shots faced in his game.  Dave’s play over his last three games has stood out, as the team has a three-game winning streak heading into the playoffs.

Dave finishes the season with a big push up the leading goalie race, finishing second overall with an impressive 2.67 GAA.

Week #14
Paul White

The winner of the Defenseman of the Week award is Paul White of the Sandbaggers.

Consistent and steady on defense every week, Paul has become an anchor defenseman for his team.

Paul’s 2-assists in the second and third periods provided momentum for his team as they broke open a close one-goal game to pull away and win their third straight game.

Week #13
Garvin Chan

The Dunkin Donuts Player of the Week award winner is Garvin Chan of the Sandbaggers.

With his team down 2-0 heading into the third period, Garvin was shifted to the first line on an in-game adjustment that paid off big time, as Garvin got his team back into their game scoring their first goal, then scoring the game winner in OT.

Week #13
Mark Stickney

The winner of the Five Guys weekly award is Mark Stickney of Tealsters Union.

Just when thought you could count out the old man at forward, he proves you wrong with his play.  He may be slower, not producing as many points as in the past, but Mark still is one of the top second line centers in the league.

Mark took some pressure off his team mates on the offense, as he scored 1-goal and added 1-assist helping them increase their third-place position.

Week #13
Dave Giusti

The winner of the weekly AARP award is Dave Giusti of the Sandbaggers.

After giving up early goals in the first and second periods, Dave shut the door with some key saves the rest of the way as he kept his team in this game until they could find some offense.

Dave’s play in net over the last four games has played a big part in helping his team move up the standings getting ready for the playoffs.

Week #13
Mike Viera

The winner of the Nelson Sousa Lucky Goalie of the Week award is Mike Viera of Royal Family.

Since filling in net, Mike has been outstanding, improving his record to four wins and no losses, as his play in net has turned around that team dramatically.

After giving up a very early goal, Mike was simply lights out the rest of the way, stopping 27 out of 28 shots faced, leading the way helping his team win two of their last three games and making a big push towards the playoffs.

Week #13
Ray Dow

The winner of the Defenseman of the Week award is Ray Dow of Tealsters Union.

Hampered by some lingering injuries, Ray’s game has been affected.  For the first time this season, he played his best game, making a big impact in his team’s crucial win.

With his team trailing early in the first period, Ray was able to read the play, and set up both the tying and go-ahead goals that went a long way in the outcome of this game.

Week #12
Pedro Fontes

The Dunkin Donuts Player of the Week award winner is Pedro Fontes of Black Magic.

With his team trailing the top team late in the second period, Pedro factored in all three unanswered goals scored by his team in the second half of his game, scoring 1-goal and setting up two others, when it mattered with the game on the line.

Pedro’s production moved him into sole possession of second place in the scorer’s race.

Week #12
Nick Romano

The winner of the Five Guys weekly award is Nick Romano of White Lies.

Coming off IR, recovering from a lower body injury, Nick showed no signs of being hampered, as he scored a big momentum swinging goal two minutes after the opponent took the lead.

Nick’s goal was scored as he positioned himself out front and tipped in a shot over the goalie.  Nick followed that up by setting up the game winning goal early in the third period.

Week #12
Doug Sedille

The winner of the weekly AARP award is Doug Sedille of Black Magic.

With his team down by two goals early in their game, they needed a spark and got it from Doug, who moved from defense to offense and delivered.

Doug scored his first goal of the season early in the third period to give his team the lead in a close game.  He picked the right time to score that first goal, while also showing more glimpses of the Doug from the past with his ball control, shooting and reading of the play all game.

Week #12
Steve Taddonio

The winner of the Nelson Sousa Lucky Goalie of the Week award is Steve Taddonio of Tealsters Union.

After being out on IR the past two weeks and before that having his troubles in net, Steve came back on fire, displaying his goaltending skills he showcased during the 2023 season.

With his team struggling for offense and locked in a very close game, Steve gave his team a chance to find their game in OT, as he stopped some prime in close scoring attempts, stopping 26 out of 27 shots he faced.

Week #12
Alex Leone

The winner of the Defenseman of the Week award is Alex Leone of White Lies.

Missing their top defenseman, someone needed to step up for the team and quarterback the defense.

Alex did just that, leading the way in the defensive end, while joining the offense to set up both goals his team scored.  Alex played solid position and attacked the play in his defensive zone, moving the ball out quickly.

Week #11
Ray Nickerson

The Dunkin Donuts Player of the Week award winner is Ray Nickerson of Marooned.

Ray had a big impact in his game, especially in the third period, scoring twice to erase one-goal deficits, and tying the game up with thirty-six seconds to play. With the opposition holding his teammate and leading scorer in check, Ray delivered big time.

The 2-goals broke a goal scoring drought of six games for Ray.

Week #11
Michael Roberto

The winner of the Five Guys weekly award is Mike Roberto of White Lies.

Mike played one of his best games this season as he was more active on the rink and his goal scored early in the third period tied the game, giving his team a big momentum swing resulting in three unanswered goals to pull away for the win.

Week #11
Jim Barber

The winner of the weekly AARP award is Jim Barber White Lies.

With his team struggling to find its offense and game, and the usual goal scorers not leading the way, Jim stepped up to score 2-goals, both in the third period, to break a tied game and help his team pull away for the win.

His timely goals were his third scored in his last four games.

Week #11
Sean Roach

The winner of the Nelson Sousa Lucky Goalie of the Week award is Sean Roach of White Lies.

Sean played a very solid game, especially in the second and third periods, stopping 32 out of 34 shots faced.  He weathered the storm in the first period after going down by two goals, then slammed the door shut thereafter, stopping every shot faced and buying his team time before they got their offense on track for a comeback win.

Week #11
Steve Silveira

The winner of the Defenseman of the Week award is Steve Silveira of Royal Family.

With his team decimated by injuries on both offense and defense and playing shorthanded, Steve took on more responsibility on defense and offense in his team’s big upset win.

Steve factored in on every goal his team scored late in the game, setting up all three goals, as his team overcame a 1-0 deficit to score three times and pull away with the win.

Week #10
Michael Duggan

The Dunkin Donuts Player of the Week award winner is Mike Duggan of Marooned.

Adding to his impressive season, Mike played a major role (again) in his team’s offense, factoring in on all the goals his team scored, as he scored another hat trick (third of this season) while setting up two goals.

Mike is clearly running away with another leading scorer’s race while on pace to give the seasonal goal scoring record a serious challenge!

Week #10
Steve Medeiros

The winner of the Five Guys weekly award is Steve Medeiros of Black Magic.

He may not have made the game sheet for points, but Steve stood out in other aspects of his game.

Playing major minutes, Steve blocked at least 5 shots on quality scoring attempts, read the play and jumped into the offense, while making smart breakout passes.

Week #10
Colleen O'Connell

The winner of the weekly AARP award is Colleen O’Connell of Tealsters Union.

With the team missing its top two defensemen, Colleen stepped up playing her best game this season.

Colleen also was rewarded for her overall play as she finally registered a point on the game sheet, helping set up a key insurance goal for her team’s win.

Week #10
Scott Rosato

The winner of the Nelson Sousa Lucky Goalie of the Week award is Scott Rosato of Black Magic.

For the third game in a row, Scott has only given up 1-goal against.  Again, making some key saves in a close game before his team got its offense going.

Scott has continued to be consistent in his overall play, once again atop the leading goalie race.

Week #10
Paul Firicano

The winner of the Defenseman of the Week award is Paul Firicano of Black Magic.

With his team shorthanded on defense, Paul stepped up his game, playing some major minutes, controlling the ball in his own defensive end, while jumping into the offense when the opportunity presented itself.

Week #9
Gary Goodwin

The Dunkin Donuts Player of the Week award winner is Gary Goodwin of Royal Family.

With his team missing their top two players on offense and top defenseman, Gary stepped up to put an end to that four-game losing streak with a solid overall team game.

Gary made the difference in a tie game entering the third period, as he scored early then followed that up scoring late.  For one game, Gary was the impact player putting an end to his eight-game goal scoring drought.

Week #9
Sean Roach

The winner of the Five Guys weekly award is Sean Roach of White Lies.

Even though his team lost a close game and fell behind early, Sean stood out in net.

With his team trailing by three goals halfway through the game, Sean kept it that way until his team found their legs and scoring to get back into this game.

Week #9
Ray Nickerson

The winner of the weekly AARP award is Ray Nickerson of Marooned.

Ray suddenly turned into the playmaker for his team, factoring in on all goals his team scored with  3-assists.

For once in his Over-30 league career, all his assists were legitimate and not “phantom” assists.

Week #9
Dale McIsaac

The winner of the Nelson Sousa Lucky Goalie of the Week award is Dale McIsaac of Marooned.

Dale made his team’s early three goal lead stand up, stopping 24 out of 26 shots he faced, to extend his team’s winning streak to three games.

Week #9
John Hines
